I am always questioning the longevity of my works on paper. Does acid-free mean it will last forever, if properly care for? Considering Art on paper that has survived centuries, is paper manufactured today, made to last? One would think but chemicals may make paper less sturdy. Considering all this I absolutely try to work on stable supports. And with All that said I have recently been using “acid-free” copy paper to remove excess watery paint from my paintings, never thinking the end product would be desirable but some are quite pleasing, resulting in a new body of work. Paintings/Prints that I will consider as pages for my next series of Artists Books. The ground is the brightest white so color is pure which I really appreciate. So now I must look into reams of quality copy paper.
The images below show the copy paper works I am discussing. The reversal Print process has opened doors to methods and techniques of what is possible. It is truly endless which is very exciting.
