These three images of a landscape painting titled, Autumn Trees or Solemn Trees or….Trees from 2015. A studio painting and one of my most monochromatic paintings certainly of this scale, at approximately 39”x49” Challenging at the time, I was making a group of landscape paintings for a show scheduled for Summer 2015 and it was Autumn - Winter when I was making them. When my then dealer visited the studio she decided to go in a different direction and we put together an abstract painting show and older representational works from 2007. All work on the handful of paintings came to a halt and that’s where it ended. It’s nice to re-visit them and see that they had something. Maybe there will come a time when I approach landscape in a traditional way again.
