Shown below are three stages of a large scale oil on canvas painting titled, DUNES, 2011. The top image being the most finished. Cleaning out my laptop recently I discovered many images and some documentation of my process which is always helpful. This 92”x78” painting of dunes comes from a photo taken in 2007 of the Long Island coast so the Atlantic Ocean coastline. This particular image with the sweeping diagonal was a source for many paintings, large and small scale, this being the largest to date.
